Kormarine 2007
Major order signed by Korean dockyards

After three years of extremely intensive preparatory work Piper America has scored a tremendous success at this year¡¯s Kormarine Exhibition in cooperation with its Korean representative.

Piper will equip six tankers at STX Shopbuilding in Wonpo-Dong with hydraulic equipment. This will establish the company on the Korean market.

This order is based on the ExpaTen bolts, which have proven themselves in numerous European ships including MAERSK, Fincantieri, Volkswerft Stralsund and AKER since 2001. The fitted bolts using in the shaft flange in the drive train convinced the Korean shipbuilders on the basis of their reliability and economy, because the time saved during assembly as well as disassembly in a dry dock is enormous.
